Center for Clinical Pharmacology

Education at the Center

In 2011, the National Institutes of Health identified a need to "recharge a dwindling cadre of experts in clinical pharmacology." By creating research opportunities, the center will contribute to future health care needs by allowing students and researchers to expand their knowledge of clinical pharmacology research, implementation, and policy.

Preparing the Next Generation of Professionals

Clinical pharmacology is inherently multidisciplinary, which presents numerous challenges. Because it is not focused on one disease, patient population, or billable procedure, it does not easily standalone as patient care discipline.

The use of therapeutics is key to the work of both pharmacists and physicians. Therefore, this novel, collaborative partnership will produce an enriching academic environment for students at both institutions.
